A meeting of the traditional and the modern, Ya Devi is a powerful and passionate new dance work that uses traditional Indian dance styles to explore personal stories of strong women in 21st century Britain Directed by Devika Rao

In this vibrant, musical and colourful show 6 international dancers perform stunning choreography from the classical styles of Kathak, Bharatanatyam, Odissi, Kuchipudi and Yakshagana.

Beautiful and skillful choreography is used to create moving moments taken from real-life research and personal experience of the highly talented dancers. Whether you have experienced the magic of South Indian Classical dance before, or are brand new to the art form you will find much to love in this exciting and entertaining show.

Leeds-based Devika Dance Theatre is led by choreographer, teacher and performer Devika Rao who has over 20 years experience and training in Indian Dance and was this year invited to perform for the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi.
